Mother nature provides an immeasurable amount of beauty in almost everything she touches. The perfection of a newly opened rose bud is well accepted as one of the most loved and appreciated flowering treasures.

The choice to replace the colourful head of the rose with pāua shell allows this work to highlight the most beautiful part of the flower with the most beautiful of seashells.

If there really were flowers with the same pallet of colours that can be seen in the pāua shell, how would you ever describe their magnificence without listing a very long string of colours, hues, shines, and sparkles.

Here is a challenge for the keen horticulturist who creates hybrid rose varieties!

Production	Solid wooden frames with composite layers that are hand painted with acrylic and oil-based paints. Pieces of thin shell are added as inlay details, and clear epoxy resin used to provide visual emphasis.
